A smart city is a new generation of information technology based on the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, and spatial geographic information integration. Intelligently respond to various needs including environmental protection, and realize the automation and intelligence of urban management and services. Among them, smart street lights are expected to become an important breakthrough in the construction of smart cities. In the future, in the fields of wireless WiFi, charging piles, data monitoring, environmental monitoring, light pole screens, etc., it can be realized by relying on street lamps and intelligent control platforms.

Smart street light is the application of advanced, efficient and reliable power line carrier and wireless GPRS/CDMA communication technology to realize remote centralized control and management of street lights. The system has functions such as automatic brightness adjustment according to traffic flow, remote lighting control, wireless network coverage, active fault alarm, light line anti-theft, remote meter reading, etc., which can greatly save power resources, improve public lighting management level, and adopt urban road intelligent lighting system. After installation, the annual operation and maintenance cost can be reduced by 56%.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from 2004 to 2014, the number of urban road lighting in my country increased from 10.5315 million to 23.0191 million, and the urban road lighting industry maintained a rapid development trend. In addition, in recent years, my country's lighting electricity consumption accounts for about 14% of the whole society's electricity consumption. Among them, the electricity consumption of road and landscape lighting accounts for about 38% of the electricity consumption of lighting, making it the lighting field with the largest electricity consumption. Traditional street lamps are generally dominated by sodium lamps, which have high energy consumption and large power consumption, while LED street lamps can reduce power consumption, and the comprehensive energy saving rate can reach more than 50%. After the intelligent transformation, the comprehensive energy-saving rate of intelligent LED street lamps is expected to reach more than 70%.

Truncation As of last year, there were 386 smart cities under construction in my country, and smart cities have gradually entered the stage of substantive construction from conceptual exploration. With the acceleration of smart city construction and the wide application of new-generation information technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing, the construction of smart street lamps will usher in rapid development opportunities. It is estimated that by 2020, the market penetration rate of LED smart street lamps in my country will increase to about 40%.
